Wipe and install (what's the fastest way)

So I've been working in a computer repair shop for just under a year now and one of the most popular jobs that we get are full windows installations which usually take a day and a half for each machine because of updates drivers etc. I've tried messing around with cloning a win7 HDD and cloning that when a wipe and install job is in but that seems to cause more problems than good.

So I'm wondering if any of you have any ideas to make the process faster?

Get the service packs on a thumb stick and install manually, especially for XP
A faster internet connection.
Keep a an up to date Windows 10 computer on the network with cloud updates enabled. This would share updates using your internal network which depending on your setup would be faster than remote downloads.
Using a fast thumbstick to run the windows install from is a lot quicker than by CD/DVD

install a windows then install the programs without installing drivers, then backup it to a system recovery file

when needed, restore them
for driver you can use some kind like Driver Pack Solution, but I would recommended using original drivers (download them from laptop/computer website) than DPS
