Wipe hard drive completey and re-use it?

Hi i wanna know if its possible to COMPLETELY CLEAR my 2tb Hdd and keep my OS? i can buy a whole new OS but if theres a way to keep i would to love to know.

formatting your hdd will erase everything,including your os.
