Wired network constantly becoming unaccessible until restarting computer.

I've been having an issue for probably a year now, It's extremely annoying and happens almost daily and seemingly at random.

Sometimes (I can't seem to pick out a pattern, just sometimes) when i wake my computer from sleep, my wired connection will suddenly not be recognized at all. Even after replugging the ethernet, it's still not usable. The only thing I've found that will solve it is restarting my computer.

I have an ssd so this process only takes a minute tops, which is why I've been ignoring it. But it keeps happening and it shouldn't be. Reinstalling/updating network drivers haven't helped, nor has updating windows. Any other suggestions?

I'm guessing this is a Realtek chip? If so, get an Intel NIC instead. They're the gold standard and have been trouble-free for me at least. Realtek stuff is hit or miss in reliability and performance.

I suspect Power Manage settings of the NIC (Network Interface Card). Some adapters have a lower power state (environmentally green, etc). Disable that. Also, remove the checkbox from "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under the NIC properties; there you will find the Power Management tab.
