Wireless adapter for gaming

Should be, a cable will always be better though.

Don't have Ethernet lines. I only have POTS (phone) lines, and our router, which has Ethernet connections is being used by my father for his work. Thanks!

Well it depends how far from the router you are and how many walls of what type the signal has to pass through, but that adaptor should be as good as any.
I have a external usb TP-Link 2.4 ghz wireless N with twin aerials and 300 mbps max speed and that works ok for pretty much anything. I rarely game over wi-fi though, I just have it as an occasionally useful device.
