Hello,

My laptop will boot up fine and be on Wi-Fi. Then a few minutes later it disconnects from Wi-Fi and it is no longer able to sense any networks. Sometimes this doesn't happen for an hour but it will usually happen eventually. The laptop and the wireless card stop communicating. The network card isn't in my device manager unless I show hidden devices. Then it will say "device is not currently connected" or something along those lines. I have the most recent drivers and I believe all my settings are right. Please help me figure out what's going on and how to fix it.

Specs:

Laptop: ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition G513
Wi-Fi Card: MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7921 Wireless LAN Card

Are you certain that only the wireless card is enabled on the laptop?

Only one network adapter of any type (wired or wireless) should be enabled at any given time.

Run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Copy and past the results here.

Also include make and model information for your network modem and router. (Or modem/router if combined.)

I do not have access to the make an model of my modem because it is my college's Wi-Fi. But the same issue happens on any network.

C:\Windows\System32>ipconfig/all

Looking at the results of "ipconfig /all" I have a number of questions regarding the configuration settings and the overall configuration itself.

The starting point for you is to contact your colleges's IT Support and verify that the laptop is indeed correctly configured for wireless network being used. IP address, subnet mask, and DNS Servers.

As for one immediate action you can try disabling IPv6 on the laptop. Disablng IPv6 has proven to be successful for many end users with network related problems.
