So about 2 weeks ago my wifi card started randomly cutting out, so i ordered a replacement card to see if it solved the problems, no luck. Uninstalled all drivers and reinstalled, no change. changed pci-e slot, no change. reset all wireless settings, no change.
The times that it cuts out is completely random, it can be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours between problems, and data usage has no effect to it cutting out.
Disabling and re enabling the adapter in device manager fixes the problem until it occurs again.
So i decided to go to Microsoft tech support and after an hour they said that my motherboard apparently isant compatible with 8.1 which is weird as i have had no problems for the last year.
Apparently there are no windows 8.1 compatible drivers for my motherboard 'PCI simple communications controller' and 'SM bus controller'.
So they suggested that i replace my motherboard.
What i'd like to know is if there is any solution to this other than replacing my motherboard.
But the thing that is bugging me most is why this has only become a problem after a year of no problems???
I'd appreciate any help.
