Wireless card problems

So about 2 weeks ago my wifi card started randomly cutting out, so i ordered a replacement card to see if it solved the problems, no luck. Uninstalled all drivers and reinstalled, no change. changed pci-e slot, no change. reset all wireless settings, no change.

The times that it cuts out is completely random, it can be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours between problems, and data usage has no effect to it cutting out.

Disabling and re enabling the adapter in device manager fixes the problem until it occurs again.

So i decided to go to Microsoft tech support and after an hour they said that my motherboard apparently isant compatible with 8.1 which is weird as i have had no problems for the last year.

Apparently there are no windows 8.1 compatible drivers for my motherboard 'PCI simple communications controller' and 'SM bus controller'.

So they suggested that i replace my motherboard.

What i'd like to know is if there is any solution to this other than replacing my motherboard.

But the thing that is bugging me most is why this has only become a problem after a year of no problems???

I'd appreciate any help.

Do you have many other wireless devices. I wouldn't assume this right of way, but wireless interference fits the symptoms you experience.

It's simple enough just to try changing the wireless channels on your router (google model # and 'changing wireless channels' for walkthroughs) to see if that helps.

Alternatively, you could also get a cheap USB wireless adapter that is supported by your MoBo/OS and if you still get the same issue I would definitely be pointing more directly at WiFi interference.

All the devices in the house are wireless (shared house), and i'm the 1 of 2 devices on my channel, the other being my phone.
Also no one else in the house is having the problem which means its limited to my pc.
And i have tried other channels with no change.
