Wireless Extender works wireless but ethernet port doesn't

Hi!
I just bought an extender (NETGEAR N300), and the wifi works, but when i connect an ethernet cable (Belkin Cat6) to my motherboard (MSI Z-87 g 43), The cable isn't recognised by the extender! What should I do? I have updated to the latest firmware

Did you disable the wireless adapter on your computer and enable/configure the wired adapter?

Is the Cat 6 cable a known working cable?

Will the computer connect wired elsewhere on your network; e.g., directly to the router?
