Question wireless mice receivers got mixed

i had a wireless mouse (old) and recently purchased a wireless mouse and keyboard combo(new). just to see what would happen, i connected both the receivers (old and new) at the same time with my laptop. the mice worked with their respective receivers for a while, but now they are interchanged, ie, the new mouse works with old receiver and the old mouse works with the new receiver (along with the keyboard). anyone knows if or how this can be fixed?
