I have this model

The wifi however is not so strong downstairs and I was searching for a replacement and I found this
model

I wondering is this has better range than the netgear?

Update I found this table on netgears website and my firmware version is in the column C3000/C3700

Now does that suggest they did update the firmware I have no idea.

No I purchased it at target My service which is called Thames valley commutations [ local cable service] changed to a odd brand where I could not have a network printer. Its range is not so good downstairs in places. Though Netflix does fine with it on 54G. The N band I never use in this house its just not strong enough. Just last weekend Wee had no wireless but the Ethernet was still connecting. I think there is a issue with the wireless on this model.

did ou check around how many people use the wireless channel where you live also you might try to reset router and put it on a shelf for a better signal and if you have a laptop or table even a phone that connect wireless to it check the signal strength of it since it does not have external antennas .
