Wireless N Not working

I use a wifi dongle for my computer since I wanted it upstairs. When I try to set the options to B/G/N like this it doesn't work. It will work while I leave my computer on, and will instantly stop working when I turn it off. When I set it to B/G it works fine, but it's a little slow for my needs. Any suggestions?

On your wifi dongle properties in Device Manager (your screenshot), go to the power management tab. There, uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
