There has not been much change in this technology for a number of years. TPLINK has been the leader in these devices but all the companies that have copied them have had a long time to catch up.
You want devices that have 1000 or 2000 numbers on them.
Most people get 100-130mbps on these but it depends on the power wires in your house and the path they take.
Equipped with three gigabit Ethernet ports, the TL-WPA8631P KIT extends AC1200 dual-band WiFi and a stable gigabit network to every room via your home’s existing electrical wiring.
I have never used these types of devices with wifi so I can't comment on that. These are the first I have seen that act as a repeater.
The powerline part is pretty standard powerline units that work ok for most people.
I would still strongly recommend you cable at least the unit near the router with ethernet. Any kind of wifi repeater is going to more than double the number of wifi issues you have. Gaming on any kind of wifi is not recommended and running on wifi repeaters is even worse.
If at all possible cable the unit to the router and then cable your pc to the remote unit.
