Wiring a telephone jack plug

Hi
Please could anybody tell me which wires go where when connecting a CW1308 wire to a BT Jack plug ? The wire colours are blue/white , ornage/white , white /orange and white/blue . Thank you for your help.

Telephone lines are not as picky as ethernet you likely could make it work with any color combination as long as you make both ends the same.

The more common colors for phone wire is black,red,green,yellow.

It is common to use the blue-blue/white pair on the middle 2 pins (3,4) and if there is any need for 2 phone lines the second pair is connected on pins 2,5 .....Note this is for rj11 if you are using something different you will have to look the standard up for that.

Note that if you are using a Key Telephone system or PABX system, that the polarity of the wires do matter. For POTS, the polarity generally doesn't matter at all.
