I have an emotiva ta-100 amplifier powering a set of emotiva b1 bookshelf speakers (8ohm) and I'm getting bored with the volume it puts out. The amp is rated at 50 watts RMS into 8ohm but the speakers can handle 75, if I push the amp to 80% it starts clipping on bass heavy music. I have a few different sets of 8ohm bookshelf speakers laying around and was wondering if it would be a bad idea to wire two seperate brand / model speakers together even if they are both rated 8ohm. Amp is rated 90 watts RMS into 4ohm so if I had two pairs of 8ohm speakers wired in parellel that would lower the impedance and get me higher power / volume, right? Any help would be appreciated, I'm not looking to ruin all my audio equipment today.
