Witcher 3 looks rubbish maxed out r9 290 and I don't know why?

650w power supply

I have Witcher 3 maxed out and I doesn't look good, I'm playing 1080p on a dell ultrasharp monitor. The trees look flat and there are shiny lines around objects and it just doesn't feel smooth. Is this just the game or is something wrong?

If it was nvidia I would say try DSR. DO you have MSAA or AA on? That would help.

Yes I have both on and nvidia hairworks off as that was supposed to cause problems

Sometimes that is off. Consider taking it in and having it calibrated. How new is it?

Try turning motion blur options off, sharpening off, chromatic aberration off, and vignetting off and see if it looks better.
