[SOLVED] With the new 3000 Series announced....

I read about the massive sizes of some of the cards. and a new 12 pin connector. i was in the market to purchase a gaming rig over labor day.
The question i have is - will any rig with micro ATX i purchase be forward compatible with the 3000 series cards expecially 3080?
What would be a good motherboard that would be forward compatible?

what case? that would be an issue too.

You are fine with a triple slot card, and that case. One concern could be length, though I doubt you will have much of an issue there, either. Width being the next big thing, but until we actually see cards, it isn't something we can say with any kind of certainty.

Until we see partner cards, it's difficult to say. I doubt there would be any issues, with the 3080, though, unless some come with some really huge heatsink designs.
