I want to ru the new return to wolfenstien and I get thease errors when I try to run it. GLW_choosePFD failed,failed to find an appropriate pixelformat,warning could not get the given mode 3,shutting down QGL, warning: missing glide installation, assuming no 3Dfx available, CL shut down, Re_shutdown , could not load open GL subsystem. Any Ideas Thanks Bruce

assuming xp-no gl support by default- you need some updated display drivers, a bit more info about your setup wouldnt go amiss

You need new video card drivers most likely. Some more info would help us help you though. What OS? What video card?

my little brothers computer does the same thing on return to castle wolfenstein, but it runs quake 3 perfect...
on winxp/stealth 3 s540 32 meg agp.
really weird.
and i couldnt figure it out...tried a few different drivers...and tried re-installing..
weird that Q3 would work so perfectly, and rtcw, which uses the quake 3 engine, would not.

I am running a amd 1400 thunderbird, asus A7V133, 512 ram, XPHome, Nvida Ge force 2 mx/mx 400. I am using the driver xp has for the nvida card.(AGP) I checked devices and the drivers ar supplied by Nvida. I went on the site to check for updated video card drivers and I didn't see any for XP. umm....detonator xp?
that is for windows xp, but works on 2000, and they have detonator xps that work on 98, 98se, and ME.

nvidia has the universal driver architecture, so it doesnt matter what card you have, as long as you have something from the tnt on.
and since you have 64 megs..i think you should be ok.

yep...driver issue for sure. The drivers on the CD are always too old.

Visit www.nvidia.com again and look for the detonator drivers for windows 2000/xp. You should find em ok.

yep, get them drivers, the ones that install with xp WONT let you play wolf.

Thanks for your help, I did visit the nvidia site and found winxp_21.83_WHQL and update my drivers and Wolf works fine. I just would like to use my joy stick but don't find those options on the wolf demo .Thanks Again Bruce

I went to the nvidia site and found the updated drivers for xp and my GE force 2/400 card and the return to wolfenstien works fine. One question, I know this is a demo but will the whole version support using a Joy stick . This demo only supports the mouse and key board. I also can't the wolf 3D to work with XP. I guess it has to much dos in it. thanks Bruce

theres NO WAY you can play an fps of anykind with a joystick or gamepad, you just cant move quick enough.
