umm, that really didnt make sense

Completely unrelated, but is anyone else noticing a downvote on almost every single comment here? What the hell?

That said, I've never played Wolfenstein but will give it a shot.

Why's that?, that sentence doesn't tell me anything. I was basically stating that i do not remember Wolfenstein 3D since i am in my 20's and in the 90's i was only a kid who played console games. Then i just poked fun at all the "old" folks here who were probably in their 20's back when Wolfenstein 3D first came out back in '92.

Man, 20 years already? God I'm getting old. This was the first reason I had to set up a LAN so we could play this locally 4 way... under IPX no less.

I don't think 20 years from now we will be able to play battlefield 3 on browser as moores law/challenge is slowly dying

[citation][nom]dfghfh[/nom]never played it and thought of buying it, but now Im confused. is Valve trying to cash in, or is the steam version any different?[/citation]
The Steam version is the original version of the game and runs on DosBox. I got it a couple years back as part of the Id package deal. It brought back many happy memories when I decided to play it through.

Haha I noticed and went back through up voting the ones worthy of it 😛

I was 10 years old at the time, I played on a 386 with 4 MB of RAM. The Harddrive was 32 MB. HAHA . I had the shareware version. I think the shareware came in 4 x 5.25" disks. There was a bookstore and they were giving away the shareware version.

it's stuff like this that make me feel old! I remember when I added an 8bit soundcard to my 386sx and had a whole new experience in front of me .... that marvelous sound .... almost as baffeling as playing decent later

I posted it earlier but let me clarify and add to it. Steam has the full game. All six released; episodes the web version says three but there were in fact 6. It runs on DosBox. It is not a cash in or a rip off. Full game. Cheap price. Win win.

I was born almost year after this game released 😀

That said i started with the PC, around 1998...

I remember to this day playing it on my 486/33, without sound. Splurged on an 8-bit card, and when I entered a room with the german shepards barking, I almost soiled myself. Wasn't expecting that kind of sound to come out of a computer game....didn't have much besides arcade noises before then.

great game! i was six when i started playing this game.. i never finished it and im still using the HP keyboard from 20 years ago when i played wolf 3d.. =)

Why would you want to play that game when you can play Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.. or even "True Combat Elite" patch.
