Woman in HP Sexual Harrassment Case Speaks

I don't care what position I'm in, if a lass like that walked in the door I'd be tempted try something worth a sexual harassment lawsuit too.

Which is probably why I'm not the CEO of HP. Or any other company for that matter.

Why are Americans so prudish? Hurd got fired for knocking boots with her, and part of the settlement was that she probably made a public statement that said they never had sex. Since it doesn't matter, and it didn't work out for Hurd, wouldn't the truth be best to save face here? I'd give him a highfive for that hot lil number!

If she wishes "Mark, his family and HP the best” , then why did she actually accuse him of sexual harassment in the first place?

That's why you'll never be a CEO or President of any company in your lifetime.

If you actually took a look at the history of HP; you'd realise the company was founded by 2 guys using good business practices of integrity. It's commonly referred to as "The HP way". (It set the standard for other computing companies like Apple to follow.)

The last CEO, Carly Fiorina, messed it all up. She tried to make HP into something its not. (She's more marketing oriented. Not in engineering thinking). HP's share-price fell by half under her leadership. 7000 HP folks received the pink slip...And the biggest tech screw-up of them all; she pushed through HP buying Compaq. (Which isn't worth anything now.) ... You could pretty much say HP was living off selling ink/toner cartridges during the later half of Fiorina's leadership.

Mark Hurd replaced her as the CEO. While he didn't restore all of HP's principles, he at least understood it. Hurd is the guy that brought HP back from its potential disaster. Its too bad he screwed up.

IF you ever become a leader of any organisation; you come to realise its more than bossing people around and trying to hook-up with anyone wearing a skirt. You are a role model that people look up to. What you do and how you act is reflected on the company you represent. You are in the position of responsibility; as people who work for you have their own families. (Not to mention you have responsibility to the Board of Directors and shareholders).

All those under you look for guidance and leadership. You are expected to do your job with integrity. (Staying faithful to your spouse, despite the temptations is a clear sign of a person of character. Very few people in today's world have this trait.)

The moment you falter (by thinking with your genitals), is the moment you will be forced to step down...Thinking with your nuts can cost you a position of power. Just ask a former US President named Bill Clinton.

And that makes no sense at all. Otherwise - eunuchs would rule the corporate world.

That may have been a big screw up.. but we have enjoyed using the "HP Proliant" servers. They are head over heels better than the HP Netservers they replaced.
They just work.

Reading the original article, and the addendum, it seems there was sexual harassment investigations under way because Hurd is a man, Fisher is a woman (and obviously, an entertainer) and there COULD be questions about improper behaviour since there was professional misconduct.

According to Hurd, Fisher and the investigators, there was no sexual matter worth mentioning to be found - but, there were indeed business misconduct, in Fisher being employed not by HP but by Hurd, and Hurd falsifying HP accounts to compensate.

Or, in short: there was an accounting malpractice, and it got blown into epic proportions because people can't stop their minds from slipping into the gutter.

Why did you have to put that picture up now I have to google and find out what movies she starred in....lol......wait soft-core ! what the heck im bored.

You sound like his mother. Sorry, we don't need the moral lesson today.

Simply intriguing; are you trying to be funny or are you borderline mentally retarded? Given "Aussie_Bear's" statement, the absolute black-and-white converse must be true! /sarcasm/ Especially since "Aussie_Bear" stated the following, "Thinking with your nuts can cost you a position of power." It appears you misread and/or misinterpreted the usage of the word can in this context. For your enlightenment, here is a URL for the definition of the English word "can": http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Can

- Cheers

I wish everyone would stop bringing up the sexual harassment claims. That had nothing to do with Mark's resignation except that it prompted an investigation that found something which he did resign for. HP found that Mark did not commit sexual harassment as defined by their company policies, a payoff to her, under the table or otherwise, would not have resulted in what happened.

Coming to a Senate seat near you... it's the lady that couldn't grow a computer company during a time when spending on technology ran away at an unprecedented pace.

As for Hurd... how much of the time do you think he spent there NOT "thinking with his ****". The mistake he made was not keeping it secretive enough... for crying out LOUD why not just take the 20G's from your wallet and pay the lady... Don't fudge expense reports when your weekly paycheck eclipses them by at least double.

Well, HP CEO or not I would tap that, so would you, so would your Mum.

By the way, it seems my suspicion has proved correct, that any article with the word "porn" in it has been moved from Jane McEntegart's desk to Marcus Yam's desk.

Really? I don't remember him actually losing his position of power...
