Don't know if this is the right place to ask so feel free to change it.

Basically I wanna do 1080p 60fps since I simply don't enjoy anything below that, I have tried to upgrade cpu and get a new hdd just for that and I still can't get solid 1080p60fps on my recordings.

Pc specs:
i7 4770
280x
8gb
1tb WD 190mb/s (according to Dxtory)

I have tried A LOT of software: dxtory, fraps, obs, action!, bandicam, msi afterburner. I have tried a lot of codecs and a lot of settings and none seem to get me what I want. I either have stutter in-game when recording or the recorded video has inconsistent framerate.

I think my pc is good enough to record 1080p60fps but I seem to be wrong.

Games I have tried: Fallout 4, league of legends, Rocket League, The Division, Trackmania.

Any help is appreciated!

I forgot to mention I'm recording to an empty HDD, been looking everywhere and some recommend having atleast 150mb/s for 1080p 60fps. Plus, I never see the hdd go 100% but I don't know if that really means anything. Thing is, sometimes even at 720p 60fps its laggy and stutterish or I loose a lot of fps to the point and the game isn't even smooth anymore..

I am going to say it is the graphics card. I tried the same thing with a heavily OC'ed R9 280. For some games it worked but most I would have to do 720p60 because the card isn't powerful enough to push 60 FPS and take the hit of recording (can't record at 60 if you aren't getting 60). Some games were fine though like Elite: Dangerous because it isn't very demanding. Once I upgraded to a GTX 970 all but the most demanding games are fine like trying to record the division on max settings. Can record it at 60 fps at medium/high settings though.

I use Bandicam and record to a sata 2 1tb hdd @ 1080p60

Just wondering, why do graphics cards get a hit when recording when they don't really do anything when recording ( might be mistaken I don't know ). Also, would you mind sharing your bandicam settings? I would like to try them out if you don't mind.

Here is what I use. I have to use Motion JPEG cause I edit with Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13.

I'm not trying to record/play those games at maximum settings, I'm trying to record them at the settings in which I get 60 fps but that seems impossible even in less demanding games like Rocket League and League of Legends.
