Hi. I have installed some new ram(2x8gb) to my asrock z77 extreme 4 mb and the pc fails to boot with the xmp profile 1, which should set it to 1866mhz. It will boot and work fine apart from me having to lower my cpu overclock(why?) in profile 2, which is 1600mhz.
My previous memory was vengence 1866mhz and i could get 4.8ghz on my 3570k.

The new memory is hyperx savage. The memory isnt on the compatability list for my motherboard as its newer than the motherboard. Is there a way to get the memory working properly at the rated speeds and get the same overclock as before?

I tried loading the xmp profile with an extra .015 and it wouldnt work, so i put the settings in manually and it works with the extra voltage. The funny thing is its running a 1t instead of the claimed 2t, this should be faster than 2t right?

Will try more voltage and try the xmp again.

Thanks for the advice. You seem like a busy guy on this website. :)

I've tried to up the voltage to 1.55 and select profile 1 and still no luck. It boot loops 3 times and loads windows at 1600mhz with 11-11-11-1t timings, it also put my cpu at 3.6ghz. The bios seems to be locked on 1N, I cant change it to 2N, 1T or 2T. CPUZ shows it at 1T all the time.

It is the latest bios p2.90. There is a beta version called p2.90m. But it's recommended not to use it. I did try installing it from a usb after I couldn't get the ram to work but I just got a black screen after I selected it in instant flash. Not tried again, I don't want to brick my MB.
