is it possible to register more than one domain name for one account on wordpress? there would be a website for each of those other domain names on that account, if that is also possible...?

You can forward (in DNS settings of your domain registrar) many domain names to point to single IP address. It is then up to the web server there to distribute requests to proper site.

You should discuss this with your WP hoster.
