I plan on getting the amd 8350 CPU.with my future build.

What's the lowest card I should get and still have full use of the processor. Examples x770 x780 that idea..

I just rescently bought a new comp. that i'm trying to put together now. I came with the same goals as you, but had to cut some corners pricewise to get a descent budget pc. The reason was buying the SSD, HDD, case, power supply, motherboard, CPU and GPU all added up. Probably spent around $750 or so on an i3 with cheapest 1150 mobo and a r9 270x. But for gaming an i5 is ideal.

If you can go over $700 budget by a bit you can get a better CPU, video card, mobo etc.

yea i tried that , he won't budge ...seems like since i work with the guy he would give me a break but i guess not ...lol

it's ok . i think i'm just going to go with the R9 270x from powercolor and have a warranty .

Looks good. PSU seems good. ONly thing about the PSU is that it's non-modular, not a big deal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_supply_unit_(computer)#Modular_power_supplies

Don't know alot about AMD motherboards. You may want a second opinion on that.

The 970 chipset isn't the newst chipset for AM3+ motherboards. The newest is the FX990 chipset. Not sure what the difference is.

Edit: The 990FX is better for overclocking, has more PCIe ports and supports full 8x/8x SLI/Crossfire.
So the 990FX is better, depends on what the price difference is.

The motherboard you choose seems to be pretty good.

The main reason to get the 990 chipset would be to run two video cards at the same time in SLI/crossfire. Or if you wanted to do more serious overclocking.

But the card you chose seems to be a good one for overclocking in any case. So good build.

Either the 970 card you had earlier or the 990 you picked now seems good.

I looked a little more at what the 83xx series maxpower draw from the PSU is. And when overclocked it seems it can be quite high. Shouldn't be a problem with one video card and modest overclock. But maybe you would want a 650W(XFX for example)/750w if you want to be sure to not have any problems if you overclock a bit more and maybe get a more energy hungry video card, or a second 270x at some point.

Sometimes it can be difficult to fit the EVO CPU cooler together with the RAM.

Moving the RAM to slots 2 and 4 should work. If you want to be sure you can buy "low profile" RAM.
According to the first link, the fan on the heatsink is movable.

Keep in mind that I'm not exactly sure about the recommendations I give.

With your current build you are spenind about 60$ more or so than the previous one. I'm not sure if it's maybe better to spend that money on a slightly better video card. Since at the moment you only have a 270x which draws ~150w, and a CPU that I think normally shouldn't draw maybe more than 125w? Anyway, you're nowhere near the ~500W the XFX 550w gives on the 12V line.

And if you're not using two video cards, then you don't need crossfire/SLI. And if you're only overclocking modestly, then maybe there's no reason to get the more expensive 990 chipset on the AM3+ motherboard.

You might also be better of spending that extra money on an SSD. To make system boot, starting up programs and general harddrive access quicker. for example I bought a Crucial m500: http://pcpartpicker.com/search/?cc=us&q=m500+ssd

yea i think you may be right , i was planning on getting a ssd but with my budget , it wasn't going to work in the beginning . I have a Samsung 840 250g in my toshiba gaming laptop . I am going to refigure my build again . i will post it in a few , let me know what you think.

This motherboard feature the highest quality components, an 8+2 power phase, high quality VRM's and mosfets, heatsinks, it's meant for overclocking...best board available hands down, equal in quality to pretty much any 990FX board there is, only down side to it is that it will not allow for crossfire or sli configuration because the 2nd PCIe slot is a 4x slot...but if you don't plan on going crossfire in the future (your powersupply will not allow this anyway and 1 powerfull GPU is always better) then there is no reason you would pay more for another motherboard...trust me i made my researches before i come in here an recommand...same goes for the powersupply this EVGA unit i recommanded is as good in quality and stabilty as the XFX one for 10$ less and will provide and extra 50w of headroom for upgrades..
