Hi,

I have a workstation to build for work and I selected below components for it.

Applications: 3D animation and rendering; 2D motion graphics and video editing.

Can I ask you, what do you think about it? Is there something I missed? Any compatibly issues you can spot?

We might add another 2080 in the future (I know RTX is not used now, but I hope it will future proof it once different software add this feature) . I think we have PSU powerful enough, but what do you think?

Current setup is £3000k (inc.VAT) and that's close to maximum we can spend. Unless there is a great benefit of extra power if we add a bit more. At the same time if we can save any money and not to lose to much of power, that would be great as well.

M.2 storage will be for apps and scratch disk for apps. 6TB HDD if we need some files locally, but we will work on files that are stored on server. Server will be build in near future. Machine will have a direct Cat6 cable going to the server.

Prices are in British pounds and we want to buy it from retailer that's in UK.

Thanks for reading.

EDIT:
based on @tejayd comment I changed formating of the build. Thanks! That website is brilliant!

I also changed RAM as 9900K can support only up to 2666MHZ.

At a glance everything looks good. You can always try pcpartpicker.com they have a uk version of the site also. It's good for basic compatibility and price comparison. (Also for sharing your builds on the web ;- )

Also see pcspecialist and look for the threead ripper as well as custom workstations whihc are intel machines... Look up the ASUS® WS X299 SAGE mother board whihc seems to have 7 pci slots.

Im looking for similar and tryign to work head around the AMD 1950x route whihc would allow me to include a quadro pny 4000 or the I9990x route whihc would leave me £250 - £300 or so over budget.

Also I hear quadro will be brinin in their own RTX Quadro 4000 in the next month or so could be an idea to wait, if not for that grpahics card for the likely price reduction of the 4000 we are looking at now...

Any advice on the I9-9900x or AMD 1950x (would go for the 2050x if could afford it)

Was told much of cad software is optimised or works better with I9 even though thread ripper has more cores, the intel sage board certainly has more pci slots even if not pci lanes (AMD 64 intel 44) and intel better for single and threadripper multi core like when renderign but anyone got more info on this for both of us?
