I use multiple Chrome browsers with 20-25 tabs. No gaming, video editing, or heavy software installed. Just a simple use case.

Budget CAD 1200

  • AMD Ryzen™ 7 8700G
  • ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI
  • Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36
  • Crucial P3 500GB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe SSD

Is it correct way to go?

You should consider 64GB's of ram, as Chrome tends to be resource heavy(memory wise). While you're at it, look for DDR5-6000MHz ram kits with AMD's E.X.P.O advertised on them. Pertaining to your motherboard, if the motherboard doesn't have BIOS version 1807;

you will need to flash the BIOS before you can drop in that APU. As for the PSU, I wouldn't invest in that expensive paperweight, even if you weren't looking to drop in a discrete GPU into the system.

I am not sure, but I may get a GPU in 2026 for Battlefield 6.
No video editing or heavy software needed.

I will mainly use it for work.

Max Budget is CAD 1500.

Sorry about that, I am back after a long time. I will be careful. So, what do you think of some of the updated parts?
Should be good for your stated purposes. Make sure the memory supports EXPO (AMD's version of XMP). There are many variations of this name model. EXPO will help optimize your memory/CPU combo.

I have both 8700G and 8500G systems at home. First for my LLM/AI Linux system and the other for general PC use. Both perform quite well for the things I need them to do.

yes it says amd expo

Going from the 8700G to the 9700X cuts your graphics significantly...
