Hello I am a WoW player and I have a pc that I built myself.
CPU: FX8350
PSU:600Watts
GPU: MSI HD7870 OC Ed.
RAM: Dual Channel Kit 8 gig 1600 Vengeance RAM
Mobo: Asus M5A99x Evo 2.0
1TB HDD

Now In Game when Im standing I'll get about 90-100 Frames but once I start moving It drops to 60-70 sometimes 40 and While raiding I get 32-60 frames depending if im in combat or not. Is this normal?

Solution
Your power supply being a low quality and delivering what would be called 'dirty' power to your system. It's unlikely, but i'm noticing it as a somewhat common problem for users asking questions on this site.

I recommend finding out what psu you have first, and looking up a review of it online
Ok, well, with that card, If you drop below 30 at any point with that card i would be worried. The game is not really super optimized for higher end cards, and you won't really see a huge difference with higher end cards (especially at medium).

With this card you should be able to run the game at max settings.

The only other suggestion i would make is to find the make of your power supply in your computer, and look up to see if it is a good one or not. If it is a very poor power supply, then that may be the issue (i have seen quite a few people on here running into problems solely based on poor quality power supplies)

30fps is pretty typical for WoW regardless of your hardware. FPS will yo-yo a lot, especially in busy areas of the game, and raids. There is a lot of timing and sync going on. As long as game play is smooth you have nothing to worry about.

I get frequent ups and downs in fps from 100 to 30.

I agree with Lee to a certain extent, but i have run the game on both a 780 and a 680, and in both cases they were able to run the game never dropping below 60 even during a 25man raid (40 man raid would cause a drop down to 50 on the 680) If it looks smooth even during a 25-40 man raid, then i wouldn't worry about it too much as long as the same thing doesnt happen in many other games

what could a possible problem be?
