News Worldwide Issues Hit ChatGPT

The REDIS client open-source library had the bug, redis-py. That was the cause, at least for now. There may be more to this as far as ChapGPT goes.

Also, since ChatGPT utilizes Redis to cache user information on it's server, which helped reduce the need to check the database for every request, though OpenAI has now ensured that the data retrieved from the Redis cache matches the user requesting it.

The “great” ChatGPT went down, and wasn’t good enough to pick itself up. How awesome is AI?
Cool, so you want to just completely turn over the keys to AI so it can run and manage all aspects of its own operations? That path leads pretty much directly to Skynet.

For better or for worse, there's got to be a human in the loop. Even then, a sufficiently sophisticated AI could use social engineering to manipulate the humans.
