Question Worried about future generation graphics cards needing dual 16 pin connectors

Guys I need to buy a power supply but a question came into my mind. Just so you know the 5090 almost required a dual 16 pin connectors because of how much power it draws https://www.techpowerup.com/326912/...ould-feature-two-16-pin-power-connectors?cp=5

I need to know if its right to already buy a 1000w or 1200w power supply that will last long term because power supply is something that you dont upgrade or buy a weaker one to supply first a 5070 so when the 6090 come I and the rest of the people will need to buy new power supply or will there be a adapter for modular power supplies?
