Hi i got a new system a P4 3ghz on a asus granite bay mb.
The cpu cooler is a swiftech mcx 478. Using asus probe i can see the cpu is running at 41c with my mb temp 28c. Im sure this cant be right with 3 case fans in my lian li 68 im sure it should be much cooler? My power supply is an enermax with 2 fans running at full speed. I was thinking of getting rounded IDEs but is air flow my problem?

Any guidance would be great thanks

Rounded IDE cables are always good. If not for the better cooling than for the cool look.

Why are your temps so unbelievable? My system temp is currently 49*C with 3 fans and a CPU temp of 35*C. I WISH my MB temp were 28*C.

I use a watercooling system that cools the CPU, NB, and VGA. It has two large radiators that dump the heat outside the tower. But if I didn't have that, then the CPU would probably hover around 60*C.

Ugh.. it's hot out today.

Its probably much more likely that the temp probe is out by a few degrees. anyway 41C is a fine temp.

Question: How much does the temp change when you go from idle to full load?
