Here is the specs for my laptop:
CPU: i7-4510U
Ram: 12gb
Storeage: 1TB Hard Drive

Will my cpu bottleneck if I upgrade my hard drive to ssd?

Solution
I mean will my cpu be slow down by adding ssd to the laptop
Exactly.
A "bottleneck" does not 'slow down' a different component.
At worst, it does not let the other component reach its full potential.

For instance, a high end GPU may be said to be 'bottlenecked' by a low end CPU.
It does not slow the GPU down, just that it may not reach its full potential.

And that has nothing to do with CPU+ drive.

Yes, change that HDD for a 2.5" SATA III SSD of whatever size fits your budget. 250GB minimum.
Your system will be faster, not slower.
It should be night and day once you test the laptop with an SSD....

Be aware, is worst than drugs, once you taste the SSD speed, theres no turning back to mechanical drives ;-)

Cheers

PD: I just saw your last question no, your CPU wont bottleneck your SSD. Thats what USAFret meant.

I've upgraded a few I5 and I7 laptops of that generation, and, the difference of going from a spinning drive (particularly the 5400 rpm laptop drives) to an SSD was the typical level of change...or, in a word, staggering. To a 10-15 second boot instead of 65 seconds, etc...4 second shutdowns instead of 20 seconds, etc... Apps opening almost instantly instead of 4 seconds.

Every laptop deserves an SSD!
