Well, based on my own personal preferences, I'd say stick with the monitor you have for now - and move up to a larger and higher resolution after you've saved up for a while.

That's not a terrible deal.

1440p 144Hz AND G-sync.

The only problem would be if you didn't plan for a 1440p monitor and don't have the GPU power to properly run it.
