My old gtx 780 has finally failed on me (code 43 hardware error). So I was wondering if its worth to just replace the GPU instead of having to rebuy a whole new rig? I only play old games like csgo/dota 2 and browse the internet, for reference.
The rig is currently
CPU: i7-4700k 3.5ghz
RAM: Corsair 16gb 1600mhz
PSU: Corsair TX750W
Mobo: Asus Z87-Pro
Cooler: Corsair H55
Case: CM 690 II Advanced
And what compatible midrange GPU would you suggest?
What are some things I should consider when replacing a GPU? Can old junk software interfere with my new installation? Should I upgrade from Win7 to Win10 before replacing the GPU, to get a "fresh start"?
