Worth it to upgrade?

Hi everyone! I have an athlon x4 860k cpu, and a F2A88x mobo. My CPU is a huge bottleneck, and I would like to upgrade. A core i3 6100 seems good, but ill have to change my RAM, and mobo. I know on paper, the i3 is worse, but it seems to be better than what i have! And info is helpful!

Why spend $110ish on a dual core in 2017? Get a 4Core/8Thread 8MB L3 Cache Ryzen 5 1400. Or wait for Intel Cannon Lake/Coffee Lake which will have quad core i3s.

I'd recommend waiting for Ryzen 3 - might have better value than today's i3's. CPU market is a bit turmoil-y right now. Wait for it to settle a bit.

The i3 does perform better in games, but are you sure your x4 860k is really bottlenecking your 750 ti? What's your CPU and GPU usage at?
