Worth Using Old ATi 'All in Wonder' Rage 128 to Archive VHS?

After digging around online expecting to find decent, dirt cheap TV tuner/capture cards for under 20 bucks, and being put off by reviews, I wondered if it would be worth the effort to ressurect an old machine and put Win 98SE on there so I could use my ancient ATi All in Wonder Rage 128 PCI card from 2001-ish to do the task.

I know I never got much use out of that feature back in the day, and I know it would require some conversion/compression software...but is this a good idea/bad idea/not worth the hassle idea? The drivers seem to still be available, but I can't remember if the utilities it came with were any good, and haven't looked into the availability of good ones that can run 98SE yet.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thats a lot of hassle, its much easier to just use one of the USB capture devices.

You're right, and I just remembered I'd never be able to find the dongle and cables I used to lug around for that thing. I should've thought this through, but I get bright ideas late at night sometimes.

Would prob work fine, but i can imagine the hassle of setting up the old pc, the slow process of the capture, then getting it off the old pc etc
