So my build is around 5 years and I don't want to replace everything and go am5, having a 3600 would getting a 5800x make a noticible difference? Only asking beause newegg has it for $128, if it would bump up my frames noticibly, I'd probably want to swap it out. Or would getting a 5700x3d be a better option? or should I leave it be till I'm ready for a full upgrade to am5? Not really noticing problems in terms of fps but if I could get more I could increase settings with same fps, just not sure if it would increase enough.

Build righ now-
ryzen 5 3600
h150i pro cooler
2070 super
x570 motherboard
32gb 3600 ram
corsair hx100i psu

If upgrading within AM4 then I would certainly go with the 5700x3d as it is the most significant cpu upgrade you can go for. It will offer a boost and provide the gpu with more fps.

The caveat here is that your 2070 super will then be the limiting factor which may prevent you from getting a significant boost but the experience in general should be better with fewer dips in cpu heavy games.

What resolution are you currently using out of interest?

I personally always stagger my cpu/ motherboard and gpu upgrades and so the extended platform life that a 5700x3d will give you should enable a gpu upgrade before you eventually switch to a new cpu in a few years or more time.
