Would a Barton keep the room from heating up?

I have a palomino core and I don't know if its me or not but it seems to heat up the room quite a bit if left on. I've read some information that the barton core puts out less heat than a P4. Am I imagining the room heating up with the computer or was the palomino really that hot?

Unless your using power saving functions I don't see why your computer won't put out quite a bit of heat.

Typical Power Dissipation:

Palamino 2100: 64.3W
Barton 2500: 53.7W
Barton 3200: 60.4W

Intel "Thermal Design Power":

P4 2.4ghz: 66.2W
P4 3.2ghz: 82W

What u have shown is a maximum power,but the dissipation is dynamic.The figure of my 1800+ is :typical power 41.3 - 64.3 W(related to the clock), maximum power 46.1 - 72 W(related to the clock).

Other components put out heat as well. Touch your disk drive. Memory and motherboard also disappate heat.
Look at Abit's IMAX3 mobo solution.

I can testify that running a very small server in my room added heat. Of course the homes here are well insulated.

My monitor heats up the room quicker than the pc. Also my 9700pro + 2 20gig hard disks put out just as much heat as my barton running @ 2400mhz on 1.8v

My pc runs an amd2600+ at its heart plus two hd's and all the other stuff... I have it in a small room and the temp in there goes waaay up when machine is running. no that that really answers the question.... fact is with all those fans blowing warm air the temp will increase if the room is small and the pc is on for a length of time... I cant see the choice of cpu changing that.... i could be wrong though

I use power saving funtions. So basically theres no fix? [tongue}

I pretty much accepted that. But my 1.5ghz P4 willamette doesnt seem to heat up the room like my palomino... is there a large dissapation discrepancy there?

AC will fix the problem. Like other people said, it is not just the cpu it is all the other parts of your system and you have to add your body heat into the mix. Just do what I use to do. strip down to nothing and have a fan blowing on you.
