Would a GeForce GTX 560 work in a PCI Express x16 slot?

First off I hope I'm not violating any rules ( I read through them and it seems like putting links in a post are ok), but anyways I have two questions: one is the title of the thread and one is at the bottom of this post.

PCIe 2.0 cards are generally backward compatible with PCIe 1.x motherboards, using the available bandwidth of PCI Express 1.1.

Graphics cards designed for v2.0 will be able to work with the motherboard being v1.1 or v1.0.

A PCIe 2.0 8x slot will have the same bandwidth as a previous revision PCIe 1.0 16 slot.

Yes the GeForce GTX 560 Ti is worth it.

Sure it will work, but it might be held back by your processor. That's why you should list your full system specs.

Funny thing that I just noticed after having this setup for 3 years was that the back fan on my comp (that gave out a year ago and hasnt been replaced) was an 80 mm and not a 120 like newegg claims. The only 120 is the front fan. The sides are 80 like they should be.
