Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a desktop Mac for editing 1080p footage in iMovie for my Youtube channel. I was going to order a late 2009 i5 27", but someone bought it :(. So, I'm now looking at a mid 2010 27" i3 iMac rocking an i3-550 cpu and HD 5670 graphics. I'm still looking for an i5/i7 machine, but if push comes to shove, will this i3 machine suit my needs? Thanks.

Solution
Better than something with a PEntium or Celeron etc, yes.

The i3 is a little underpowered for what you want (if it's the sole use), but it's certainly feasible. Slower than ideal, but it would do the job. There are certainly alternatives to iMovie if you considered going the Windows route (which might be cheaper & give you more variety to pick from).
