Would it be a bad idea to buy a refurbished Graphics card?

i found a refurbished EVGA superclocked gtx 980 for only about $70 more than a gtx 970, and i'm thinking about getting it.
it's sold directly by newegg so i know that's reliable. but i'm not sure if it's a good idea to buy refurbished graphics cards...
what do you think?

should be okay. If you don't know about it already be sure to check out EVGA B-Stock listing. Straight from the manufacturer, can't do better than that. Got my 980 from there for about $125 off new list value.
