Would it be good to update my BIOS?

Hey. So I just upgraded to Windows 11 and it seems to be a bit slower and sometimes hanging as compared to windows 10. - That may be a problem.

Well, I looked at the manufacturer of my motherboard and it has a bios file update that says "windows 11 supported" - Should I go ahead and update that? I try not to update it because it quite frankly scares me all the stuff that can go wrong with that.

Edit: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z370-A-PRO/support#bios So it's also saying the latest is a beta version which gives me even more anxiety.

Thanks!

Upgrades aren't as good as clean installs. You could try that before i would update the bios

Have you checked you have latest drivers as that can help too

most bios updates for win 11 just changed certain settings to be on by default. Mostly turned on TPM and Secure Boot. In most cases you don't need a BIOS update to turn those on.

its a beta from 2 years ago. Funny they never made it official.

it may add resizzable bar, that is handy for newer GPU but it doesn't really help windows performance. Its mostly used in games.

which bios version are you on?
It shows below the processor header in System Information app, it has its own row

MSI show a different bios number in the system to what shows on website, its always fun.
