I second his question. It all depends on what you're playing. Also be careful reusing old power supplies. If it is pretty recent you will be fine. As far as the other components go, pick a nice ssd, it is well worth the money. They are whisper quiet and faster. If you can't afford 500gigs of ssd though, then get a backup hdd. As far as motherboards go, you could probably swing a micro ATX, but that depends on if you are overclocking. I've got a msi h110 gaming micro atx and it works great for me. CPUs, there is always Intel skylake series. You could get by with an i5 but i7 is where it's at but it might take you to the full $1500. As far as gpus go, you could be like me and buy a model that has gone down in price like the gtx 960 or 970, or you could be the person who wants it all and needs the 1080. And lastly monitors. Don't cheat yourself here. If you built it all then damnit you should enjoy it. That being said however, some people prefer big monitors, I personally want to keep my focus on a smaller screen and they are cheaper. But don't settle for anything less than a 1080p resolution. Hope this helped.
