Just upgraded to a EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0,and Seasonic 620W 80 Plus Bronze PSU. Now i'm looking into a Motherboard/CPU i'm still on the i5 2400 sandy bridge. I wan't to be able play good and have no problems running anything. Any opinions on products?

I'm guessing you're not going to stick with your current computer. i5 4690K and a good Z97 motherboard? What is your budget on the CPU/Motherboard? That way we know what kind of i5/i7 and motherboard to choose. What case are you using again? Can it fit an ATX motherboard?

i recently went to the msi z97 gaming 7 with an i7 4790k. its a common build combo, and i love it so far. goes well with teh gigabyte g1 970 that i got for the build too. if you are with intel currently, and are still happy with it, i would stay. i had not been with intel up until this build, and it impresses me more than the AMD stuff would.
instead of the i7, you could go with the i5 4690k and be good as well

I'd just wait for Skylake. The i5 2400 is still a good processor and is more than capable enough for today's games.

Sadly you basically have a barebones motherboard. Only 2 DIMM slots, no VRM heatsinks, and there isn't much on the motherboard itself. If you had a nice Asus Z77 motherboard you could probably set the i5 2400 multipliers to the max boost level and have 3.6 (3.8GHz if lucky) on all cores.

An i5 2400 and a 970 is a fine combo. It's not really worth upgrading to Haswell, Skylake would be the better option and will hopefully be worth the wait. Unless you need more features (new board) it's not worth the money.

What resolution do you run? The 970 is more than enough for 1080p and does well at 1440p.

1 run 1080p, i was also thinking of going to 16gb, instead of the 8gb. I use VMware for my computer classes. Any suggestions on that? Sweet, not having to upgrade right now will def save me some money Lol

I'm not saying it won't work great, I've been telling you the i5 2400 would be enough since your other thread. I'm saying that your motherboard is a low-end one and if you had a better one then you could probably pull a little bit more performance from the processor by boosting it to 3.6/3.8GHz instead of a boost of 3.4GHz. Thats all. RAM is important with VMware so upgrading to 16GB is not a bad thought. You'll need two 8GB DIMMS as your motherboard only has two slots for RAM.

It depends on your budget, If you want to go all out i would suggest a Z97 motherboard with an Intel i7-4790K.

Right now, i play WoW about 90% of the time, minecraft and Assassins Creed Unity the other 10%.

I agree with frag06 that waiting for Skylake might be for the best for upgrades. I'm not sure how Unity plays like with it's patches so far but it's a badly optimized game and getting a new CPU/Motherboard won't improve performance drastically. i7 4770K @4.1GHz + GTX 970 gets 47FPS AVG and 35FPS Min. On youtube there is a person with an i5 2400 and GTX 680 that supposedly got 35-55FPS on High. You shouldn't really have to worry about WoW I would think but I don't play the game.

the skylake would be a great thing to wait for, but would it really be worth it for you right away, would be the question i would ask first. if it is going to have ddr4, and is anything like the haswell-e, then it may have completely different ram slots, so no using old ram, in the new build. also, it will mean a GPU upgrade possibility for you in the future for PCI-E 4 (i would assume would be backward compatible to PCI-E 3). As the ddr4 is right now, cost of these components may be a bit inflated right at the start.
