This is the first system I've ever built. I've disassembled and reassembled a machine before but never built one from scratch.

So i was hoping someone could run over the parts I hope to use and just tell me if they're compatible and maybe make some suggestions on improving it.

I've done research, but like I said I've never done this before so could really do with some more experienced help.

The parts I was looking to buy were an i5 3750k, a gigabyte gtx 770, a gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H, 8gb of ddr3 1600MHz and a 500W PSU.

I probably shouldve mentioned i going to use this machine for gaming mainly....

Thanks in advance for any help!!

I would get an i5 4670k simple because it is newer and not on a dead socket. Also change the motherboard to a z87 board to be compatible with this new i5.

MAKE SURE the PSU comes from Antec, XFX, Corsair (not CX line), Seasonic. this is the most important part of the PC and it NEEDS to be a quality unit. You may want a 650w PSU if you plan to overclock the CPU.

Okay, thank you for responding! I will do all of that.

Just out of curiosity whats wrong with the CX line?
