Would these two sets work together?

Hi,

My system is currently running 4 GB of M378T5663RZ3-CF7 RAM. I'm saving towards a new computer and may have to make my current system last just a little longer. A friend of mine bought his computer at approximately the same time as I bought mine. He has since upgraded and so I asked if I could have the 4 GB of RAM from his old system in the hopes it was the same kind. One letter out!

The RAM from his old system is M378T5663QZ3-CF7. I went to the Samsung website and viewed the PDF for both but the data sheet was beyond my comprehension. If some kind soul could take a minute to look at the specs and tell me if they will work together I'd be grateful :)

I don't see any difference in them aside from the part number. They should work together fine. Just make sure to install each pair in it's own channel. IE, your pair in channel A, his pair in channel B.

That is of course assuming your motherboard even has four DIMM slots and can support 4 1.8v modules and 8Gb total memory. Some boards have four slots and support 2GB modules, but only when two are used. The use of all four slots is sometimes limited to 1GB module population.

Thank you very much. I have a P5QL Pro. I'm pretty sure the board will support it :)
