Would this be a good system upgrade?

The time has finally come to make some upgrades to my rig. I have saved up enough to get a maximus vi formula, a i7 4790k, and a evga supernova 1000w. Then, with the parts I sell I can get a new gtx 770 to have 2 770s in sli. Im just having last second thoughts, if I should bite the bullet and buy the upgrades. Should I go ahead and buy these parts?

All of those parts seem to be a nice upgrade but the I would get the Maximus VII Hero http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K2MASE4 instead. The Formula is a Z87 board compared to the Z97 board of the VII series which will support future processors. The Formula has a lot of extra frills that are virtually unnecessary unless you plan to use them and 95% of the overclocking world doesn't even use them.

You also don't need a 1000W power supply which is enough for 3-way SLI 770's. Get something like a Corsair AX860 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A0HZMKG which is PLENTY for SLI 770's and tons of overclocking headroom and power for peripherals.

I got the evga 1000 p2 as a birthday gift and at the time it was $30 off original price and the ax860 was about the same cost.

Having an PSU with more power than you need costs you more in the long run since it will use more electricity to power your system.
