Would this be an upgrade?

Hey guys. I was going to get the radeon 6450 for my aging slim pc. Strangely my integrated graphics have actually managed to do games like wow and total war pretty good. In Wow i currently get like 30 fps on fair. If i do get this card would it lower my performance? Would I need a larger power supply? I currently have a 220 watt power supply and I have not found any power supplies for my slim-line pc, the SX2840

I didn't know that. Some people told me that I should get a 5570. They then said it was too taxing so get a 6450. Finally, I was thinking a GT 430 low profile. What do you think for a 220 watt psu?

Newer gen cards will use less power.
You will need one that is entirely powered by the pcie slot.
On a 22ow psu, that might be difficult unless you had 300w available.
If you can use your front dvd bay, FSP makes a 450w aux psu that fits there:

The strongest cards that will run without aux power is the 7750 or GTX750 cards.
Perhaps a 7730 might do the job.

Perhaps you would be better off to relocate your parts to a more conventional sized case.

also before going into power consumption, are you running the dx11 API? it creates less CPU overhead and can improve performance - next step can be to reduce some of the graphic settings until a new Power Supply Unit is implemented. Some mods such as ELVuI can also create more overhead on CPU and FSB reducing framerates. Consider other options until you can confirm an appropriate PSU for your syste.
Good luck

In another thread I recently came to the conclusion that the radeon R7 240 would be the best option for my psu and case to to its high performance and low power consumption. As to a larger case, trust me that though crossed my mind more than once. If i did indeed transfer everything to a larger case then I would need to get a new mother board and what not. I think that the R7 240 plus a nice dusting of the case would yield high results (I dread the thought of how large a dust bunny army lies i there at this moment). Do you guys think that this is a good option?
