However (this is personal preference), Samsung has a updated version of the 840 EVO out, the 850 EVO. the 850 has better technology and runs a lot faster than the 840. From what Samsung has said.

I assume this is for gaming?

If so then a GTX 970 is only about $30-50 more than the r9 280X. If you can get the 970 then that would be great because it offers r9 290X performance at $330.
