would this cpu work with this mobo and is it any good

As the title says, I am asking if the Asus m5a99x evo r2 works with the fx6300. I know the mobo is a bit overkill for the processer,but I'll be buying a 8xxx cpu after a while. It would be great if you can recommend me a 8xxx cpu down the line when I have enough money to afford it.
