Would this gain any performance at all?

Ok so i am running an intel 15 2500 on an asrock h61m-s motherboard and i just changed the multiplier from a stock 33 to 37 which i heard was the max gain to run at 4 cores for a non k processor. Would this actually give me any realistic performance increases?

Secondly would disconnecting the cd/dvd drive that i literally never use from my pc improve anything at all performance wise? (sorry if that's a dumb question).

Thanks!

Solution
The only way to OC a non K Intel CPU is by adjusting the "Base Clock". changingthe multiplier will not adjust the core frequency on non K CPU's. The base clock changes the base frequency that everything on the board runs at gaining performance BUT will increase the Ram speed along with it.

Removing the Optical Drive will not gain any performance as it is actually read as a storage device.
