Would this work for removing a virus?

I was wondering if I got a new hard drive then got a clean install of windows on it, but kept my old one would I be able to leave them both in so I can transfer files from the old one to the new one without the virus injecting it self into the new one? If not any suggestions?

It'd be a tough call to say for sure. Ideally you should get an anti virus then with your new installation of the OS on a clean HDD install the anti-virus and use that to scan the infected drive. You can then transfer what not from the old drive to the new hard drive without fear of the virus hopping onboard.
