Right now I have a 20" Benq GL2030 16:9 ratio Monitor max. resolution 1600x900

I am looking at the Benq GW2450HM 24" Monitor resolution 1920x1080 16:9 LED with AMVA panel & overdrive control, DSub DVD-D HDMI

Would I benefit the switch to the 24"? not for gaming just for movies, my graphics card in desktop PC is a 2009 Nvidia Geforce 9400GT 512MB, using Windows7

Yes, if you do get 1920 x 1200. Much better. In fact, i just upgraded from 22 in. 1920 x 1080 to 24 in. 1920 x 1200.

The jump between 1600x900 and 1920x1080 would definitely show you an improvement in image quality, whether the size change will make much difference sort of depends on whether you feel your current monitor is indeed too small

Well I wanted something that combined the colour quality and depth of blacks of a PVA panel with the speed of an IPS panel, but in practice it was no better than TN in colour quality, weak blacks unless you turned brightness down so far the colours became weak and faded and the response was no faster than PVA. The AMA overdrive feature fixes some trails but also causes blur in other places. Stepping up from a 23"er though I definitely did notice the size difference at first (though you quickly get used to it).
